The World of Rust: A Look into the Future

Writer's picture: Old Rusty GamingOld Rusty Gaming

Rust enthusiasts, gather around! The winds of change are blowing through the rugged landscapes of Rust, bringing with them a slew of exciting new features that promise to enhance your survival experience. Let's dive into the latest developments that are stirring up the community.

Tick-Tock Goes the Digital Clock

First up, the digital clock is ticking its way into the game. This isn't just any clock; it's a multifunctional marvel that displays server time and comes equipped with alarm functionality, allowing you to set up to five alarms to trigger events within the game. Imagine coordinating raids or reminding yourself to check on your furnaces without having to keep one eye on the clock at all times. The design is still under wraps, with temporary models hinting at the aesthetic delights to come.

Stealthy Strikes with the Blow Pipe

Next, let's talk weaponry. The blow pipe is on its way to revolutionize stealth gameplay in Rust. This low-tier weapon, which uses bone darts as ammunition, is perfect for those who prefer the silent but deadly approach. The development team is working hard to fine-tune this addition, and we can't wait to see the strategic depth it will add to combat. (sorry no images of this as of yet.)

Wallpaper Wonders

Base customization is about to get a whole lot more colourful with the introduction of wallpapers. With a variety of designs to choose from, you can now personalize your base's interior to reflect your style. Whether you opt for a vibrant yellow, a bold red, a cool blue, or the urban chic of a subway theme, these wallpapers are sure to make your base stand out and you can bet your bottom dollar there will be more designs available soon. Just remember, while they add flair, they won't stand up to a determined hatchet attack.

Procedural Map Overhaul

By far the most anticipated (for me at least) is the fact that the procedural map, the heart of Rust, is getting a massive update. Though details are scarce, we know that the Aux2 branch is brimming with changes that will bring a fresh look to the game's environment. Large lakes, Canyons, Desert Oaisi’s are just some of the new additions we can expect, we’re on the edge of our seats, waiting to explore the new terrains that will challenge our survival skills.

What's Next?

These updates are just the tip of the iceberg. The Rust development team is continuously working on improving the game, with recent devblogs hinting at more quality-of-life changes, new gameplay adjustments that will keep the game dynamic and engaging.

So, whether you're a seasoned survivor or a newcomer to the island, these updates are sure to provide new challenges and opportunities. Keep your eyes peeled for more information and prepare to adapt your strategies to the evolving world of Rust.
