Hack Week.
There has been quite a bit of action going on over the last few weeks over at facepunch, including some cool sounding things during "Hack Week".
Hack Week is where some of the facepunch teams developers get work on whatever they'd like to add to game, It doesn't mean the features they work on will definitely be added into the game, but this can give them some time away from from normal development and come up with some rather interesting ideas.
Included in some of the Hack Week ideas have been:
Airships - a fun element where engines can be attached to balloons, and even bases too! a great way for you to move house don't you think?
Chat emoji's - how about some fun emoji's in game chat, I like this idea, would be great if you could create your own too.
Weapon Rack - Yay more storage ideas, we are super short on these, so I would love to see this go live, would also make bases look a little more interesting.
Other Development News.
Included in the rust development commits are a number of things all getting ready for the next update which will happen on December the 1st. I will update you all later nearer the wipe day with more information of what we can expect in the December update, but as a summery this is what we are seeing so far.
Rust Xmas 2022 - This event normally goes live around mid December so will know more nearer the time.
Happy Birthday Rust, rust will officially be 9 years old this year, so balloons will be added for that, and you can expect to see them floating around junk piles.
There has been some work on car parts spawns being removed from non vehicle junk piles.
There have been some commits relating to a new terrain type called Caldera, I love it when new terrain types appear, its always interesting to see new variation in maps.
More work on industrial items such as storage adaptor for refrigerators and tool cupboards.
Initial work seen on a "Static Caboose", personally I see that making much more sense than the ones you can hook up to above ground trains, it would make them more of a challenge to use.
More work on the Ferry Terminal, cant wait to see this, I think this will be related to the long running project to enable players to change servers by sailing between islands.
That's all I have for you for now, will bring you more news when it becomes available.
